Sugar-Free Recipe Websites That Can Still Soothe Your Sweet Tooth

Posted on July 1st, 2015 by Dr. Peter Tomaselli

Here at Chicago Smile Design, we would like you to help you keep your teeth healthy for life. One of the largest factors that contributes to dental problems is diet. Sugar, in particular, is a major factor that leads to tooth decay, along with a series of other health problems. The average American eats about three pounds of sugar each week! That’s way too much. It seems impossible, though, to avoid it. There seems to be sugar in nearly every food we buy. Luckily, there are some bloggers out there who recognize this problem and offer a solution. Below are some great websites with sugar-free recipes to help you cut back on unnecessary sugar and get your dental health back on track!

    Sugar Free Mom

www.sugarfreemom.com Sugar Free Mom is a blog site with a myriad of recipes that aim to cut out sugars and artificial sweeteners from popular recipes. Since 2011, this has become one of the most popular sugar-free recipe websites available. Brenda Bennett, the author, is a mother of three children with various food allergies. Her recipes are meant to provide healthy alternatives for the whole family. Her book, Sugar-Free Mom, Naturally Sweet & Sugar-Free Recipes for the Whole Family, is also available to order through the site.

    Spoonful of Sugar-Free

www.spoonfulofsugarfree.com Spoonful of Sugar-Free is a recipe site dedicated to producing healthy food options free of dairy, gluten, and sugar. The site boasts a long list of recipes that are great for you and your teeth! There is also a blog section about general health and product reviews for different healthy and sugar-free foods.

www.iquitsugar.com Who says your sweet tooth has to suffer just because you cut out sugar? We especially like the peanut butter + jelly brownies (https://iquitsugar.com/recipe/raw-peanut-butter-jelly-brownie/).

    Healthy Indulgences

www.healthyindulgences.net This website is user-friendly and extensive. You can search recipes by dietary restriction, meal, or food type. The options seem endless! Most, if not all, recipes are made without sugar so that you can be sure your teeth will thank you! Healthy Indulgences also has a cookbook for sale via the website in case you just can’t get enough of their delicious recipes!

    Sweet Smarts

www.easy-sugar-free-recipes.com Sweet Smarts, formerly Easy Sugar Free Recipes, is the place to go if you’re looking for a sugar-free ice cream or sorbet recipe. It’s a great website for all sorts of naturally-sweetened goodies, but especially great for the kind of goodies that give you brain freeze. Check out their lime sorbet recipe here: http://www.easy-sugar-free-recipes.com/lime-sorbet.html. Yum!   Cutting out sugar doesn’t have to be a chore.
