This week our most asked questions regarding All-On-X procedures and how All-On-X procedures compare with Dentures. Undergoing dental implant surgery is a significant dental procedure. Thankfully though, Chicago Smile Design offers our patients a free consultation, so the patient can gather information about dental implants before they make their final decision on whether or not they would like to go forward with them.

When does it make sense to choose Dentures over an All-On-X Procedure?

While All-On-X is the superior choice when compared to dentures, there are scenarios where dentures might be a better option for the patient. If the patient’s health is poor and surgery is not an option for them, then dentures would be fair option over the All-On-X procedure. If finances are an issue, dentures are significantly cheaper then All-On-X implants. So, if you have enough bone left, dentures can be an excellent alternative to All-On-X implants. Those are the two main instances where dentures would be the preferred choice over All-On-X.

What are All-On-X Implants made with?

Most All-On-X implants are made with commercially pure titanium alloy. This material is very strong and extremely durable. The All-On-X implant has titanium and several other elements which create a level of hardness and durability to allow the All-On-X implant to last for many years, even decades, with proper maintenance.

What are the costs of All-On X Implants?

Typical All-On-X implants go for $20,000 to $30,000 per arch. However, there are other factors that may affect the price. The All-On-X price can vary based on how many implants are being placed and which materials are being used. If the implant is being made with ceramic material or a different material, this can also affect the cost of doing All-On-X. If the patient requires teeth removal prior to implants, this will affect the cost as well. While every patient’s needs are different, and these needs will determine how we approach each patient’s case, $20,000 to $30,000 per arch. (This is a good faith estimate of the costs associated with completing a typical All-On-Four procedure.)

While no patient ever wants to lose their teeth, thankfully the dental options available to treat patients in these circumstances and provide them with a beautiful smile are better now than they ever have been before.
