More All-On-X, Dentures and Implant Questions Answered!

Posted on August 26th, 2024 by Dr. Peter Tomaselli

All-On-X implant surgery is an intensive surgery, but that doesn’t mean it needs to be painful for your teeth or for finances. In the paragraphs below I will start by discussing how Chicago Smile Design uses a calculated medication regimen to minimize patient discomfort, during and after, the All-On-X procedure. I will discuss the near flawless success rate of implant surgery, and how All-On-X implant surgery raises that success rate even further. And finally, I will go over the costs associated with undergoing All-On-X surgery, as well as the cost of associated procedures to provide you a better understanding of the financial investment involved with undergoing All-On-X plant surgery.

    How Painful are All-On-X Procedures?

In many cases, All on 4 implant surgery is a fairly intensive surgery, so it’s not surprising for patients to have some form of discomfort after the work is completed. However, at Chicago Smile Design we use a specific regimen of pre operative and post operative medications that helps keep our patients post op discomfort to a minimum.  Patients’ post-operative comfort levels depend largely on how closely they follow our post op instruction and maintain the regimen we provided. So, if you follow our instructions, you should expect minimal discomfort with implants at Chicago Smile Design. Our goal at Chicago Smile Design is for the patient to have zero post operative discomfort, and we frequently see that.

What is the Success Rate of All-On-X Implants?

With any implant procedure, our success rate is typically 95% to 98%, but with the All-ON-X implant surgery, our success rate can be closer to a 99% success rate. The reason for this jump in success rate stems from the simple rule that the more implants you have in your mouth, the more latitude you have with holding those implants in place. In the case of All-On-4 surgery, you are using 4 implants to hold the entire new arch of teeth. These four implants give the new arch a tremendous amount of stability and support which turn make its far more likely for your new teeth to hold in place for any length of time. Implant tooth survival can be extremely high with All-On-4 or All-On-X surgery.

Ever Wonder the Cost of All-On-X Implants?

The cost of All-On-X implant surgery can range anywhere from $20,000 to $30,000 per arch. This amount can vary depending on how many implants are going into the patient’s mouth and the type of material being used for each implant. If you require tooth extractions and bone grafting prior to undergoing All-On-X surgery, this would understandably increase the price as well. While every patient’s needs are different, and these needs will determine how we as a practice approach a patient’s case, our hope in making this video was to provide our audience with a good faith estimate of the costs associated with completing an All-on-Four procedure.

At Chicago Smile Design, we strive to provide the patient with the highest quality dental care possible. Through our years of expertise with All-On-X implant surgery, we have developed a strategy to provide our patients with beautiful long lasting dental implants with minimal discomfort at a highly affordable price. It is my hope that this essay provided you with valuable information about All-On-X implant surgery, and hopefully helped to ease any tension you had about the procedure. If a patient is interested in learning more about All-on-4 implants and wants a better idea of the costs associated with their personalized case, we encourage them to give our office a call at (312) 664-2100 so that they may set up a complimentary consultation to discuss their treatment with our clinical team.
