On December 11th, 2023, Smile Direct Club closed its doors and permanently ended all patient treatment. Chicago Smile Design was saddened to hear of this result as it may leave hundreds of thousands of local Chicago Dental patients in the lurch in terms of what the next steps are for their orthodontic treatment. This means Chicago patients who have recently placed orders for aligners will no longer receive those aligners. Chicago patients who signed up for a “Lifetime Smile Guarantee” will no longer have this guarantee honored. Smile Direct Club patients who are in the middle of months, if not years, of treatment with Smile Direct Club will no longer be able to finish their treatment with the company. If that isn’t bad enough, Smile Direct Club has ended all their customer service options, so Smile Direct Club patients with questions cannot even contact the company for assistance. This is a horrible result for Smile Direct Club patients who put their trust & their hard-earned money in a company to help them improve their dental health and Chicago Smile Design wants to help. Chicago Smile Design wants to be there to offer any and all support we can to any of the Smile Direct Patients who have been forced to handle this situation on their own.
